Alberta Animal Services & Petland Canada Partners for Life
Our Partnership with Petland Canada
Petland Canada strives to make a difference in our local communities, and that’s why all of their 21 corporate owned and operated Petland’s across Canada work with local shelters to adopt animals.
September 2011, Petland Canada decided to stop selling puppies and kittens in their corporately owned stores. The process took over a year but they are happy to say that our 21 company stores across Canada now work with local rescues to adopt out homeless animals. Petland has always been proud of the inspected breeders used within their stores and the value of animals they have always had in their stores. “I purchased my cat from Petland,” says Sarah Stachiw, Communications, Special Events Coordinator for Petland Canada. “ It’s an experience I will always remember and 15 years later she’s a happy and healthy cat. It is proof of the quality of animals Petland has always supported- through breeders and now through local rescues. In fact it’s one of the reasons I wanted to work for Petland.”
Petland Canada has been working with Alberta animal services in Red deer since May 2011 and is proud to say that over 1300 dogs and cats have been adopted from the store to date through the partnership and has opened the first of its kind Adoption Centre located inside the Red Deer Petland.
“Since working with Petland our organization has changed in so many ways for the better”, says Erica Coomber Shelter Administrator. “Petland has given us hope, inspiration and a partnership we will cherish forever. Words cannot explain how grateful we are to be able to work alongside this remarkable organization. Our partnership has helped hundreds of companion animals find their forever homes and has given them a second chance. It has been such an amazing journey and we look forward to all the greatness we will do for years to come.”
We know that there are animals out there in need of loving homes and we will make every effort that we can to make a difference in those pets lives. It is our desire at Petland to make a difference in the communities we serve. Our pet counselors are dedicated to matching the right pet with the right guest and meeting the needs of both. To our guests who already own pets, we are dedicated to enhancing their knowledge and enjoyment of the human-animal bond.
